Warring calls BJP rally an ‘outsourced show’

Chandigarh: Taking a swipe at the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) rally in Moga on Saturday, Punjab Congress president Amrinder Singh Raja Warring said despite the hype and rhetoric created by the party, the event proved to be a complete "damp squib", even with the Punjab govt's support."It was an outsourced show, with outsourced hosts and guests," Warring remarked, adding that the rally was "wholeheartedly" supported by the AAP govt in Punjab, and that people were transported from neighbouring states like Rajasthan and Haryana, both ruled by the BJP. "There was nothing Punjabi about the BJP's Punjab rally, as everything was outsourced," he remarked.He further pointed out how the Punjab Police detained those whom it suspected of opposing the rally. Warringobserved that what the Union home minister spoke about was already known to the people of Punjab and asked what was new in it. "Everyone in Punjab knows about the problems; you should have offered some solutions, which you failed to do," he told Amit Shah, adding, "people will no longer be carried away by your shallow and hollow rhetoric."MSID:: 128751790 413 |
