JALANDHAR: Punjabi singer NachhatarGill has lodged a complaint with the police after a member of his troupe wentmissing in Canada. The singer, along with his troupe had gone to Canada on July26 for over a month-long tour. While the promoters of Gill's programmes haveinformed the immigration department in Canada about the case, Gill has requestedthe police here to look in to the matter.
The singer said his was a10-member troupe apart from his family members who came back to India onSeptember 2 except guitar player Vijay, a resident of Jalandhar, who disappearedfrom hotel room on August 15 and did not return. Meanwhile SSP Pawan Kumar Raihas marked the complaint to SP City 2 Sarabjit Singh.
Gill, who hadto cut short the tour due to his father's death on August 12, informed TOI, restof the troupe along with his co-singer Manju Mahal stayed back to honour othercommitments about performances. Talking about the guitarist who went missing,Gill said, "Vijay had gone abroad along with some other singers a couple oftimes and even had visas of America and UK. He accompanied me for the first timeas my guitar player was away with some other singer and I had no reason to doubtVijay's intention as he had been to foreign countries earlier also.

Gill, who is known for his musical performances in across the globeand has always produced his troupe members before the embassy of the respectivecountry, now fears that the disappearing act by one member may blemish hisrecord and create problems for him in future.
Gill alleged, "Icontacted his family also but they were also not forthcoming about thewhereabouts or contact numbers of Vijay." However he said that Vijay had a visawhich would be valid for around a month to stay in Canada.
