SGPC announces 300th martyrdom centenary of Bhai Tara Singh Wan

Amritsar: The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has announced to observe the 300th martyrdom centenary of Shaheed Bhai Tara Singh Wan on March 14, and plans to further intensify the amrit sanchar (initiation) movement in a special manner from April.SGPC president Harjinder Singh Dhami stated on Friday that the above decision was taken following a meeting with the Dharam Parchar Committee.A nagar kirtan will be organised on March 11, followed by the commencement of Akhand Path on March 12, after which a series of ‘diwans' will be held.The SGPC president said the main centenary event will take place on March 14, which will be attended by the Sikh high priests, Jathedars of Takhts, and prominent personalities from the Sikh community.
