Jalandhar: Punjabi singers and artists have also joined flood relief efforts, some on the ground and others by announcing financial contributions.
Prominent singer Sartaj's foundation has been working on the ground in Ferozepur and Fazilka districts for the last few days. He also posted on his social media accounts, urging people to join the efforts.

Singer Resham Anmol joined the Khalsa Aid team in the relief efforts. Actor Love Gill also joined the team.
Singer Jasbir Jassi has also been working on the ground. In an interview, he said stand-up comedian Kapil Sharma had assured him of providing resources for the relief efforts.
Singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh's team is assessing the situation in the Majha area and is likely to chalk out a plan going beyond short-term measures. Gippy Grewal has sent truckloads of silage for the cattle.
Singer Babbu Mann announced on Friday that he would contribute his income from the Winnipeg, Canada, show towards the relief efforts. On Sunday, Ranjit Bawa announced he would give the income from his first show of the Canada tour.
Ludhiana-based Sikh activist Gauravdeep Singh said singer Karan Aujla first asked what the requirement was, and when he told him that they were lacking boats, the singer ensured a boat reached in a little over a day.
Aujla is expected to make bigger contributions. The boat was used by singer Inderjit Nikku and other volunteers in relief operations in the Ajnala area.
Singer Jas Bajwa also joined the relief efforts on the ground and made an appeal that rations were already enough and there was a requirement for fodder for the cattle.
Punjabi singers and actors had also played an active role during the farm movement in 2020-21.
Sanjay Dutt says floods ‘heartbreaking'
Actor Sanjay Dutt on Sunday became the first big face from India's film industry to express sadness over the devastating floods in Punjab. "The devastation caused by the floods in Punjab is truly heartbreaking. Sending strength and prayers to everyone impacted. I will support in every way I can. May Babaji bless and protect all in Punjab," he wrote on X. Dutt's family hails from Punjab. Before the Partition, the family lived in Jhelum district, which now falls in Pakistan Punjab.
