Punjab announces free bus travel for NEET aspirants

Chandigarh: Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Mann on Wednesday announced free travel in Punjab Roadways buses for students appearing in the NEET examination from June 20 to 22.Sharing the announcement on X, Mann said students appearing for the examination would only need to show their admit cards to avail free travel."Many poor children appear for the NEET examination. Some do not even have enough money to travel to the examination centre," Mann said, adding that the decision was taken after requests made by students during AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal's interaction with NEET aspirants.Kejriwal also shared a video message, saying several students had sought assistance for travel expenses to examination centres, following which the Punjab govt decided to provide free bus travel on Punjab Roadways buses during the examination period.
