Kurukshetra MP Naveen Jindal marks LS win anniv with job fair, urges youth to avoid illegal migration
Chandigarh: Marking two years of his Lok Sabha win, Kurukshetra MP Naveen Jindal on Thursday organised a mega International Employment Fair under the ‘Naveen Avsar' initiative to address unemployment and curb illegal migration among youth. Held by the Naveen Jindal Foundation, the event drew over 5,000 job seekers and their families.Addressing the gathering alongside Haryana BJP president Archana Gupta, Jindal urged youth to avoid risky and illegal migration routes, commonly referred to as the ‘Donkey Route'. He expressed concern over families selling ancestral land to finance illegal journeys abroad and emphasised that skill development and legal employment opportunities were the safer and more sustainable path to success."The world needs Indian talent. With the right skills, our youth can secure dignified and high-paying jobs abroad through legal channels," Jindal said.Archana Gupta praised the initiative, describing it as a practical solution to unemployment and a reflection of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of skill-based education and self-reliance. Former minister Savitri Jindal also addressed the gathering, recalling the commitment of late industrialist OP Jindal towards the welfare of the Kurukshetra region.A highlight of the event was the testimony of Pradeep Sharma from Kaithal district, who shared how Jindal's intervention prevented him from selling family land to send his son abroad illegally. Instead, his son received skill training and is now set to take up a legal overseas job.Jindal highlighted achievements made during the past two years, including the establishment of an International Skill Center in Kurukshetra and the Mahatma Jyotiba Phule ITI in Ladwa. Over 2,500 youth have been trained over the past year, while 60 of 86 students at the Kurukshetra centre have successfully cleared the German language test. The fair featured employers from aviation, healthcare, IT, logistics, hospitality and manufacturing sectors, offering legal job opportunities in countries such as Germany, Australia, Canada, UAE, Oman, Qatar and Vietnam.
