Punjab deputy chief minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa on Friday said, "On
Labour Day, the central govt has given a gift of inflation."
In a written statement, Randhawa said, "At a time when the entire country is paying tribute to the contribution of the working class, the Centre has increased LPG cylinder prices, delivering yet another blow of inflation to the common people, which is extremely unfortunate. This move will further increase the hardships of the general public, especially the labour class."

He said, "Workers in Punjab often rely on affordable meals at roadside eateries, but rising inflation is now making even these meals expensive. This situation is a matter of serious concern, and the govt should intervene immediately."
