Faridkot’s Sunawardeep secures 76th rank in UPSC
Bathinda: Sunawardeep Singh Masoun (26) from Faridkot has secured an All India Rank of 76. It was Masoun's third attempt. He did a B Tech in mechanical engineering from Symbiosis Institute, Pune. Sunawardeep did his schooling in Faridkot. Earlier, he was selected as an inspector, cooperative societies, Faridkot, and looked forward to joining the civil services. "Being a field officer in the cooperatives department, I had daily interactions with the grassroot population, like women and unpaid workers. I did not have much power as an inspector to make any decisions for them and wanted to reach a position where I could do something for such people," said Sunawardeep.He made previous attempts in 2022, when he failed to qualify in prelims, and in 2024, when he cleared the prelims.
His mother, Gagandeep Kaur, is an associate professor at Brijindra College, Faridkot, and his father, Kuldeep Singh, director of Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) regional centre, Faridkot, are elated over his achievement.Abohar's Aakriti secures 122nd rank in UPSC Abohar: Aakriti Singla brought glory to Abohar and her family by securing 122nd rank in the UPSC exam. Aakriti, daughter of Pawan and Suman Singla, pursued a Bachelor of Commerce (B Com) degree from Daulat Ram College, Delhi University. Later, she did a Master of Commerce from Hansraj College, Delhi. She was also a promising student and topped the UGC NET and JRF in commerce.Aakriti's dream was to serve her country and society, so she took the UPSC exam and secured 122nd rank, taking the first step towards achieving her dream. A close associate of the Singla family, Sanjay Vashishtha, also expressed pride in Aakriti's success, stating that she was a bright student since childhood and always ranked among the toppers in her class.
