Dharamshala: Controversy over the Indo-Pak match has brought to fore the divided face of the saffron party in Himachal Pradesh. Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) was cornered by families of martyrs protesting against the India-Pakistan match.

BJP leaders from Kangra did not support the cricket organization, governed by the parliamentarian son of former chief minister PK Dhumal.

National BJP secretary Shrikant Sharma was also quite lukewarm in the matter of support to the sports body.

However, the party expelled two-time MLA from Kangra, Rakesh Pathania after he went against the sports event at the cricket association.

Former chief minister Shanta Kumar also opposed the match. Even as BJP described chief minister Virbhadra Singh as anti-national for losing out on the match, his own party leaders in Dharamshala refused to support the cause. Meanwhile, the team from New Zealand arrived for the Australia versus New Zealand tie.
