Citizens urged to complete mobile app process to continue getting ration subsidy
Chandigarh: All ration card holders have been told that the govt of India will now provide ration subsidy through a mobile application instead of depositing the subsidy amount directly into the beneficiaries’ bank accounts. For this purpose, special camps are being organized daily from June 3 from 8am to 5pm to assist beneficiaries in completing the required process.
These camps are being held at the community centres of Vikas Nagar (Mauli Jagran), Maloya, Sector 25, Ramleela Ground Burail, Khajeri, Hallo Majra, Khudda Alisher, sectors 32, 40, 41, 42, 56 and Mani Majra (near RIMT School).
Those who have already submitted their details for receiving ration subsidy on their mobile phones but have not yet downloaded the application on their mobile phones, have been requested to visit the camp along with their Aadhaar card and Aadhaar-linked mobile phone to complete the process.
More than 22,000 ration card holders in Chandigarh have already downloaded the application and over 25,000 beneficiaries have submitted their details. However, around 30,000 beneficiaries, particularly from Maloya, Mauli Jagran, Mani Majra, Sector 25, Burail, Sectors 55 and 56, Hallo Majra and Palsora, have not yet completed the process.
All ration card holders are informed that downloading and activating the mobile application is mandatory for receiving ration subsidy. Beneficiaries who do not complete this process may stop receiving their ration subsidy amount. Therefore, all remaining beneficiaries are requested to visit the camps and complete the process at the earliest.
Beneficiaries who have already submitted their details can also download the PNB Digital Rupee application from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store and complete their registration from home.
For any information, assistance or guidance, ration card holders may contact the Department’s toll-free helpline number 1800-180-2068.
