Anshit from Kangra tops Class XII results in HP
Shimla: Anshit Kumar from Govt Senior Secondary School, Bhawarna, in Kangra district, topped the Class XII examinations, the result for which was declared by the Himachal Pradesh School Education Board in Dharamshala on Monday.Anshit secured the top spot with 99.2% marks, scoring 496 out of 500.The second position was shared by two students — Shayla Kashyap from New Era School of Sciences, Chhatri, Kangra, and Arushi from Govt Senior Secondary School, Dharyar, Sirmaur. Both Shayla and Arushi scored 99% marks.Shamya Barjatya from Govt Model Senior Secondary School, Dari, Dharamshala, secured third position. She scored 494 marks out of 500.In the overall merit list, girls outshone the boys. Out of 76 students who found a place in the merit list, 60 were girls. While 42 students in the merit list, including 33 girls, were from the govt schools, 34 students -- 27 girls and 7 boys -- are from private schools.Shayla Kashyap from Kangra topped in the Science stream, scoring 495 marks (99%). Sanchita Dhiman from Una and Kashi Sharma from Hamirpur shared the second position with 493 marks each (98.6%). Tamanna Sharma from Solan, Nitin Kumar from Kangra, and Vaishali Thakur from Una shared the third position, each scoring 492 marks.In the Commerce stream, the first position was shared by Yashsvani Chauhan and Krishika, both from Una, and Ayan from Kangra. Each of them scored 491 marks (98.2%).Anjali and Muskan from Kangra and Jahanvi from Solan shared the second position with 489 marks each (97.8%). Three girls — Akshima Pathania and Ridhima from Kangra and Muskan Thakur from Una — scored 488 marks each (97.6%) to share the third spot.In the Art stream, Anshit Kumar, the overall topper, stood first with 496 marks, followed by Arushi from Sirmaur with 495 marks and Shamya Barjatya from Kangra with 494 marks.The overall pass percentage this year was recorded at 92.02%. A total of 81,109 students appeared in the examination held in March, out of which 74,637 passed, while 3,071 were placed in the compartment category. A total of 3,352 students failed the examination.Addressing the mediapersons in Dharamshala, Board chairman Rajesh Sharma said this year's pass percentage was better than that of the previous three years. The pass percentage in 2023 was 79.6%. It was 74.5% in 2024 and 83.16% in 2025.MSID:: 130797483 413 |
