AAP trains cadres on SIR; Sisodia leads outreach push
Chandigarh: The Chandigarh unit of AAP Sunday organised a training programme on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process in Sector 35. The session was attended by booth-level agents (BLA-2s), party office-bearers, municipal councillors, volunteers, and senior leaders. Former Delhi education minister Manish Sisodia and Delhi MLA and Chandigarh in-charge Jarnail Singh were present at the event.Addressing the gathering, Sisodia explained the SIR process in detail and stressed that the strength of democracy is directly linked to the protection of every citizen’s voting rights. He said AAP workers would reach out to households, assist residents in filling out the required forms, and ensure that no eligible voter’s name is deleted from the electoral rolls. He urged party workers to treat the campaign as a service to democracy rather than a political exercise, and to carry it out with dedication and commitment.Sisodia added that the party would work with full commitment to ensure that the electoral process remains fair, transparent, and in line with the spirit of the Constitution. He called upon workers to visit every household, raise awareness about the SIR process, and ensure that no genuine voter is deprived of their democratic rights.
Jarnail Singh said democracy is safeguarded not only on polling day but through the fairness and transparency of processes leading up to elections. He said party workers have a responsibility not just to the organisation, but also to educate citizens about their constitutional rights. He urged them to provide accurate information, assist people facing issues related to voter registration, and strengthen the party at the grassroots level.
