3 youths held with live hand grenade in Fazilka

Fazilka: The crime investigation agency (CIA) wing of Fazilka police arrested three youths and recovered a live hand grenade from them. According to the police, the accused hail from the Jalalabad area of Fazilka district.The accused were produced in court, which sent them to police custody for three days. Giving details, inspector Sunil Kumar, in-charge of the Fazilka CIA team, revealed that the police received a tip-off that some youths had procured a hand grenade from an unidentified individual and were awaiting contact from their associates.Acting on the information, the police arrested the three accused. During the search, a live hand grenade was recovered from their possession. The arrested individuals have been identified as Lakhvir Singh, Shekhvinder Singh and Gurpinder Singh. The police are investigating to ascertain the source from which the accused obtained the hand grenade, and where it was intended to be used.MSID: 131227324 413 |
