106-yr-old fights for pension, notice to Punjab govt

CHANDIGARH: The Punjab and HaryanaHigh Court on Thursday issued notice to the Punjab government and itsagriculture department for November 24 on a writ petition filed by a106-year-old woman from Amritsar seeking family pension.The noticewas issued by the division bench of Justices Jagdish Singh Khehar and AshutoshMohunta on the petition preferred by Daya Kaur. She had submittedthat her grandson Narinder Singh, who was a sub divisional officer (SDO) in thePunjab agriculture department, had died and even his wife had expired sometimeback.
