Bhubaneswar: Veteran actor
Mihir Das, who acted in more than 100 Odia films, several telefilms and television serials, died in a private hospital in Cuttack on Tuesday. He was 63.
Suffering from multiple ailments, Das was admitted in hospital for more than a month. Das is survived by son and actor Amlan.
Known for playing versatile roles, Das started his acting career in theatre and later switched to films, becoming a colossus in the Odia cine industry for more than four decades.
An actor for all seasons, Das known for his flawless portrayal of characters and stood tall for his rich contribution and passion for the Odia film industry. His sudden demise spread a pall of gloom among the film fraternity and thousands of fans.
