Bhubaneswar: To align skill development with global trade opportunities, World Skill Centre (WSC), Bhubaneswar, and World Trade Centre (WTC), Bhubaneswar, on Friday signed a strategic memorandum of understanding (MOU) here.
Officials said the initiative aims to enhance the global employability of Odisha’s youth by embedding international industry linkages into training programmes. It also seeks to create a strong convergence between skill ecosystem and evolving global market demands.
On the occasion, WTC, Bhubaneswar, regional director A Rajyalaxmi emphasised the importance of skilled human capital in a globally connected economy. She said the collaboration would facilitate international exposure, strengthen industry engagement and open access to overseas markets for emerging talent.
Under the agreement signed on the WSC campus, both institutions will jointly work on facilitating international internships and apprenticeships, developing export-oriented skill modules and enabling joint certification programmes and global placement opportunities.
The partnership will also focus on knowledge-sharing platforms and industry interactions to familiarise trainees with international trade practices.
Officials said the initiative is expected to strengthen Odisha’s position as a hub for globally competitive skilled talent while bridging the gap between industry requirements and workforce capabilities.
