Bhubaneswar: As a gift from the people of Odisha to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his birthday on Wednesday, the state is set to plant an astounding 75 lakh saplings in a single day. The initiative aims to involve representatives from various sectors, including private organisations, students, women and youth, ensuring widespread public participation.
Chief minister Mohan Charan Majhi chaired a meeting on Monday and reviewed the preparations with departmental officers and district collectors to ensure the success of this ambitious plantation drive. Majhi praised the PM’s unparalleled role in building a strong and self-reliant India and highlighted his special attention towards Odisha, which significantly accelerated the state’s development.
