Bhubaneswar: Fisheries and animal resources development minister Gokulananda Mallick on Friday said strict action will be taken against Omfed dealers if they fail to clear the pending dues within seven days.
“The dealers owe Omfed more than Rs 5 crore in pending dues. If the long-pending dues are not paid, Omfed will cancel their dealership, and may file an FIR against them,” said the minister, while attending a comprehensive review meeting of Odisha State Cooperative Milk Producers’ Federation (Omfed) here.
He added Omfed has achieved a historic milestone by earning a net profit of Rs 10.23 crore during the financial year 2025-26. “It recorded a turnover of Rs 1,036.8 crore during 2025-26, the highest in its history,” said the minister.
Presently, Omfed procures around 6.7 lakh litres of milk daily from nearly 3.24 lakh farmers through 4,455 milk cooperative societies.
Mallick reviewed the progress of various programmes and projects undertaken by Omfed, including issues relating to milk cooperative societies, dairy plants, procurement systems and infrastructure upgrade. He directed officials to ensure timely resolution of operational challenges and accelerate developmental activities.
