Rath Yatra 2025 commenced in Puri
The sacred city of Puri witnessed the grand commencement of Rath Yatra on June 27, 2025, as devotees from across the world gathered to celebrate the divine journey of the deities.

Devotees felt the divine presence of Lord Jagannatha in the sacred atmosphere of Puri, as chants and prayers echoed through the temple premises.
Divine ascent of Lord Jagannatha
Lord Jagannatha was seen adorned in his floral Tahiya as he gracefully swayed in the arms of servitors while ascending the Nandighosha Ratha during Rath Yatra 2025.

Despite the humid weather, the spirit of the devotees remained high as water was sprinkled across the crowd to provide relief during the grand spiritual procession.

As per Bamadev Sanhita, devotees who witnessed Lord Jagannatha, Balabhadra, Subhadra, and Sudarshan at Gundicha Temple during Rath Yatra were believed to have attained Vaikuntha after death.

A sea of devotees flooded the Grand Road in Puri to witness the holy procession of Lord Jagannatha, Balabhadra, and Subhadra journeying to Gundicha Temple.

Mahaprabhu boarded the chariots
Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan confirmed the successful completion of initial rituals as Lord Jagannatha and his divine siblings boarded their respective chariots.
Drone monitoring in effect
In a strict move to maintain security, 6–7 unauthorized drones were taken down near the Shri Jagannath and Gundicha temples as drone flying was strictly prohibited.
District magistrate oversaw arrangements
Puri DM Siddharth Swain confirmed that all rituals were carried out on schedule with enhanced security measures, ensuring a peaceful and orderly Yatra.
