Crashed aircraft taken to Bhubaneswar in dismantled pieces

Rourkela: The body and wings of the nine-seat aircraft that force-landed near Rourkela on Jan 10, was dismantled and taken to Bhubaneswar airport by two trailer trucks on Saturday. Its engine will be transported within 2-3 days.An apparent engine failure had forced pilots of the Cessna Grand Caravan 208B EX aircraft to land on a field about 10 km from the airport, saving the lives of six on board, including two crew members.

Six-seven technical staffers of IndiaOne Air reportedly reached the landing spot on Saturday had started dismantling the body and engine of the aircraft. Its body was loaded on one trailer truck on Saturday and on another, the wings were loaded. The trucks then proceeded towards Bhubaneswar airport with IndiaOne Air personnel as escorts.The engine of the aircraft after being dismantled, has been packed with polythene and will be transported to Bhubaneswar airport soon and from there, will reportedly be sent to Canada.ASI of police, Jalda police outpost,Dhyanchand Khilar confirmed the development.The IndiaOne Air flight had taken off from Biju Patnaik International Airport at 12.27 pm on Jan 10 and was scheduled to land in Rourkela at 1.19 pm. Close to the airport, the pilot sounded a May Day alert and informed the Rourkela ATC that they were landing in a field.
