Bhubaneswar: Maitri Vihar police on Thursday arrested a doctor’s son for allegedly assaulting a youth in a city bar on Tuesday.
Police identified the accused as Ren Patnaik (22), a resident of Chandrasekharpur. Ren and some of his friends allegedly assaulted the youth, who was said to be known to them.
Police attributed the motive of the assault to previous enmity.
“The victim was celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi near KIIT Square when one of his friends called him to the bar. When he reached there, Ren along with some others assaulted him,” a police officer said. tnn
