After eight-day break, assembly budget session to resume today

Bhubaneswar: As the budget session of Odisha assembly will resume on Friday after an eight-day break, opposition BJP and Congress are planning to renew their attacks on the government over the “unsolved” murder mystery of slain minister Naba Kisore Das. The session is scheduled to continue till April 6.
On Thursday, leader of opposition Jayanarayan Mishra said 40 days after the sensational murder, hardly any headway has been made by the crime branch in the murder. Instead, they are coming out with new theories every other day, he added.
“We will seek a reply from the government on why the crime branch is desperate to prove murder accused Gopal Das as mentally unsound when a medical board has certified the contrary and the courts have rejected the crime branch application to take him to National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences Bengaluru,” Jayanarayan said.
The senior BJP MLA said law and order in the state has gone from bad to worse with rising cases of heinous crimes such as murders and rapes.Congress legislature party leader Narasingha Mishra said his party will also raise the Naba Das murder issue in the assembly. “The government has replied to an assembly question that it is investigating the conspiracy angle into the minister’s murder. The government must tell the people, who are the suspects of the conspiracy and the progress of probe in that direction,” he said.
Congress legislature party leader Narasingha Mishra said his party will also raise the Naba Das murder issue in the assembly.
