Bhopal: Three children were killed and seven others, including a couple, were injured on Monday afternoon after the roof of a temple collapsed in Ahrauli village of Morena district.
The incident occurred around 2.30 pm when devotees were inside the temple offering prayers. Police said construction work was underway on the temple dome when a portion of the roof suddenly gave way.

At the time, a local resident identified as Satish Gaud had come to the temple along with his wife and their daughter Mansi to offer prayers. Several children, who had been playing nearby, also entered the shrine to collect prasad when the roof collapsed. Villagers rushed to the spot after hearing screams and launched rescue efforts, pulling the injured out from the rubble. Three young girls were found dead at the site, while seven others, including the couple and their daughter, were shifted to hospital.
The deceased were identified as Vaishnavi Sikarwar, 11, Karishma Goswami, 9, and Chhaya Goswami, 7, all residents of Ahrauli.
Those injured include Satish Gaud, his wife Guddi, their daughter Mansi, and four other children aged between six and eight years.
Five of the injured are being treated at Morena district hospital, while two have been admitted to Kailaras hospital. Police said their condition is stable.
