Siddharth Bahuguna takes charge as SP south Bhopal

BHOA: IPS Siddharth Bahuguna on Wednesday took charge as superintendent of police (SP) Bhopal (south), replacing the outgoing SP Anshuman Singh. Bahuguna was earlier posted as SP, Burhanpur. Talking to TOI, Bahuguna said, "Tackling property-related crimes like chain snatching, theft and burglary will be his priority." "Such crimes needs to be checked", he added. Bahuguna said Bhopal is the state capital and has a different set of issues, law and order being one of them. He will try to improve the overall policing and will particularly look into the incidents of crimes against women, he said.The city has two SPs SP (south) and SP (north) for new and old city areas respectively. The word on Anshuman Singh's transfer had been going around for quite some time. There were several officers in the fray to fill the vacant post, but Bahuguna was finally chosen. When it comes to recovery of stolen goods, the record of Bhopal police is dismal with barely 25 per cent property being recovered.
