Scattered showers today, but rainfall will intensify
Bhopal: Showers of varying velocity continued in Bhopal and other places of the state on Thursday. The wet spell would continue and its intensity will also go up during the next few days due to activation of multiple weather systems in the state and outside.
Officials of the meteorological department, Bhopal circle said, there was trough over east MP and adjoining UP, which was leading to showers.

The wet spell would last a few more days, as there was a well marked low pressure area over Odisha that would have an impact over the state after two days, officials added.
The day temperature in Bhopal on Thursday was recorded at 27.3 degrees Celsius, 4 degrees below normal mark, while night temperature in the city was 22.9 degrees Celsius, a degree warmer than normal mark.
The places that recorded showers between 8.30 am and 5.30 pm in the day were Khandwa 45.0 mm, Khargone 25.0 mm, Malanjkhand 23.0 mm, Jabalpur 15.8 mm, Noagaon 14.0 mm, Narsinghpur 13.0 mm, Bhopal city 10.8 mm, Khajuraho 10.4 mm, Sagar 7.0 mm, Raisen 6.0 mm, Bhopal 3.0 mm, Gwalior 2.5 mm, Guna 2.0 mm, Ujjain 2.0 mm, Mandla 1.0 mm, Dhar 1.0 mm, Narmadapuram 0.6 mm, Pachmarhi 0.4 mm, Betul 0.2 mm, Indore 0.2 mm and Shivpuri recorded 2.0 mm rain.
In the forecast for Bhopal on Friday the meteorological officials said there would be cloudy sky with possibility of moderate to heavy rainfall. Day and night temperature would be respectively 27 degrees Celsius and 23 degrees Celsius while average wind speed will be 10 km per hour.
In the forecast for the state a warning of extremely heavy showers was issued for Anuppur, Shahdol, Umaria, Katni, Seoni, Mandla, Balaghat, Panna, Raisen, Narmadapuram, Betul and Burhanpur districts. A warning of moderate to heavy showers was issued for Satna, Dindori, Jabalpur, Narsinghpur, Chhindwara, Damoh, Sagar, Chhatarpur, Tikamgarh, Niwari, Vidisha, Sehore, Bhopal, Rajgarh, Harda, Khandwa, Khargone, Ujjain, Dewas, Agar, Mandsaur, Guna, Shivpuri and Sheopurkalan.

There was 10mm of rainfall in a 24-hour period, with humidity levels ranging from 87 to 98 percent. The forecast for Sunday predicts overcast skies with the possibility of light rain or drizzle. The installation of an additional weather station near Pragati Maidan will provide specialized forecasts for the ongoing G20 Summit.
