Retd govt doctor booked for drugging, raping patient in Bhopal hotel on pretext of specialist visit
BHOPAL: A 65-year-old retired doctor from Gwalior allegedly raped a 30-year-old female patient in a hotel in MP Nagar Zone-2. The doctor brought the woman, who was undergoing treatment for a skin disease, to Bhopal under the pretext of consulting a specialist.
Here, he took her to a hotel in MP Nagar and raped her. The female patient alleged that the doctor gave her a sleeping pill along with her medicines, due to which she could not resist him despite wanting to.
Acting on her complaint, MP Nagar police on Tuesday registered a rape case against the accused doctor and started investigations.
According to the police, the 30-year-old woman, originally a resident of Gwalior, is a housewife. She was undergoing treatment for a skin disease from a retired doctor, Amrish Sengar, 65, in Gwalior. Amrish retired from a govt hospital. Instead of any improvement from the treatment, the skin disease began to spread further.
Then the retired doctor told the woman that she would have to consult a specialist doctor in Bhopal. He claimed there would be some tests there that could not be done in Gwalior.
The accused doctor brought the woman to Bhopal on Feb 14. The woman told him that she wanted a separate room, but the doctor claimed that no other room was vacant in the hotel. On the night of Feb 14, Amrish gave her skin disease medication which also contained a sedative.
