No shortage, problems due to glitch in booking portal: Minister
Bhopal: In between the long queues outside the gas agencies, the MP govt stated that problems occurred due to a technical fault in the portal created for cylinder booking and that there is no shortage in the state.
The first meeting of the cabinet committee formed in Madhya Pradesh to review the impact of the LPG crisis in the state due to geopolitical developments in West Asia and middle eastern countries was held on Friday.
Deputy CM Jagdish Devda, food, civil supplies and consumer protection minister Govind Singh Rajput, and micro, small and medium enterprises minister Chetanya Kumar Kashyap reviewed the situation. The meeting discussed steps to ensure timely availability of gas cylinders for domestic consumers and to maintain a smooth distribution system through agencies. Devda instructed officials to ensure regular supply of LPG gas in all districts of the state so that consumers do not face any inconvenience.
The deputy CM also asked officials to pay special attention to LPG availability in both urban and rural areas and strengthen the supply chain in coordination with gas companies so that uninterrupted LPG supply continues in the state.
Food minister Rajput said that petroleum products are available in sufficient quantities in the state. Rajput stated that petrol, diesel, ATF, crude oil, and domestic gas are sufficiently available and supplies are continuing regularly. Continuous action is being taken under the Essential Commodities Act in the state.
Kashyap said that problems occurred due to a technical fault in the portal created for cylinder booking. He directed that the issue be fixed and that offline booking should also be allowed at agencies as per requirement.
Additional chief secretary of food, civil supplies and consumer protection Rashmi Arun Shami informed about the availability of petroleum products and the efforts being made to bring back the state's migrants from Gulf countries. State nodal officer of oil companies Ajay Shrivastava said adequate stock of gas cylinders is available at bottling plants and distributors' warehouses.
