BHOPAL: A 30-year-old mother killed her 3-year-old daughter and then committed suicide in Ashoka Garden on Thursday. Her husband was sleeping in another room when the incident took place.
SHO Ashoka Garden Alok Shrivastava said that Varsha was married to Rajendra Raut, a resident of Pandhurna, around four years back. The couple had a 3-year-old daughter Prasvi.
Varsha’s mother Mamta had gone to her younger daughter’s house in Karata Hills. She returned home around 9am on Thursday. When Mamta entered Varsha’s room, she was shocked to find Varsha and her daughter hanging from the ceiling. Hearing her screams, Rajendra rushed to the room and called the neighbours. They rushed Varsha and Prasvi to a hospital where they were declared brought dead. Police found no suicide note so the exact reason behind her extreme step could not be ascertained.
