Month of prayers, patience & penance begins with sighting of Ramzan moon

Bhopal: The Royyat-e-Hilal Committee in Bhopal announced that the Ramzan crescent was sighted on Wednesday, with the first roza commencing on Thursday.Following a crucial meeting of the Royyat-e-Hilal Committee at Shahi Moti Masjid, the sighting of the Ramzan crescent was formally confirmed in Bhopal. Shehar Qazi Syed Mushtaq Ali Nadvi announced: "The first Taraweeh prayer will be offered tonight (Wednesday), and the first roza of Ramzan will be observed on Thursday.", marking the spiritual rhythm of Ramzan evenings.Following the announcement, preparations in mosques across the city have been completed to welcome worshippers during the holy month. Special arrangements have been made for devotees, including designated spaces for women, drinking water facilities, and basic amenities for those attending late-night Taraweeh prayers.Religious leaders have appealed to the faithful to dedicate the month to prayer, patience, and helping the needy, underlining that Ramzan is not only about fasting but also about charity, self-restraint, and renewal of faith. Extending Ramzan greetings to the faithfuls, Shehar Qazi said, "Ramzan Mubarak 2026 to all Muslim brothers and sisters. May the blessed month bring peace, mercy, and spiritual growth to every home."
