Man rapes & dupes woman of 7L on marriage pretext

Bhopal: A man was arrested for allegedly raping a 25-year-old woman and duping her of nearly Rs7 lakh under the pretext of marriage.Police said the complainant, a 25-year-old woman, stated that she worked in a firm, where she met the accused who was her colleague. A few months into their acquaintance, he allegedly took the woman to his house under the pretext of an outing and raped her. When the woman protested the assault, he pacified her by promising to marry her soon. During this relationship, he convinced her to give him between Rs 6 lakh and Rs7 lakh, claiming he needed the funds to purchase a separate house where they would live together after their wedding. Recently, when the woman began pressuring him to finalise their marriage, the accused flatly refused to marry her. The woman then filed a complaint with cops.
