Man held for rape on lure of marriage

Bhopal: Nishatpura police on Tuesday arrested a 26-year-old man for allegedly raping a married woman on the pretext of marriage and pressuring her to convert. A case was registered against the accused on charges of rape under the BNS and the Madhya Pradesh Freedom of Religion Act, after which he was produced before a court and sent to jail.According to Nishatpura SHO Manoj Patwa, the married woman allegedly left her husband and began living with the accused. He added that the accused allegedly established physical relations with her on the promise of marriage. Around 2 months ago when the woman asked the accused to marry her, he allegedly put forward a condition that she must convert her religion before marriage. The woman refused and lodged a complaint with cops.
