Madhya Pradesh: Miscreants waylay Vidisha bizman, molest daughter
BHOPAL: A group of miscreants including four brothers allegedly chased a Vidisha based businessman’s family travelling in an SUV- by bikes, a car and a van alleging they zip-passed their bike. The accused then waylaid them after a few kilometres at Shamshabad Square in Berasia locality on Saturday afternoon and demanded Rs 10000 for speeding past them.
When the businessman and his family refused to pay the money, the accused forcefully took his 21-year-old daughter out from the SUV and molested and assaulted her. When the businessman and his 25-year-old son protested, the accused beat them up badly with sticks and vandalised their SUV.
Acting on information, a team of Berasia police reached the spot and detained three accused, who turned out to be brothers.
A case was registered against the accused brothers and their accomplices on charges of molestation, assault, extortion and vandalising an SUV at Berasia police station.
SHO Berasia Narendra Kulaste said that the complainant, the businessman’s daughter, a 21-year-old woman, is a college student. The family resides in Vidisha. She stated in her complaint that their family including her parents and brother were going to visit Tarawali Mata Mandir in Berasia by their SUV. Her father was driving the SUV. Suddenly near Damkheda village in Berasia they realised that some bike-borne men were following their SUV. Then a car-borne-men and a van-borne-men also started following them. Around 4pm after following them for 8km, the accused stopped them by parking a van in front of their SUV suddenly at Shamshabad Square. The accused started hurling abuses that they zip passed their bike in a dangerous manner and demanded Rs 10000. One of the accused grabbed her and forcefully took her out of the SUV. They started molesting her while assaulting her.
SHO Kulaste said that when the girl’s brother intervened to save her, the accused assaulted him with sticks. He sustained severe injuries on his head, shoulder, back, abdomen and hands. When her parents came out to save him, the accused assaulted them too and vandalised the SUV. Acting on information, a team of Berasia police reached the spot and detained three accused while others fled the spot.
SHO Kulaste said that the nabbed accused were identified as Dharmendra Thakur, Deepak Thakur and Raja Thakur. All three are brothers. Their brother Ravi Thakur and other accomplices fled the spot. Search was on to nab them. The arrested accused and their absconding brother Ravi all have previous crime records. A case was registered, and further investigations were on.
Police said that some villagers tried to counsel the accused, but they did not listen and assaulted the family. The villagers had then informed police about the incident on Dial-100.
