Cop dies in late-night crash with parked truck in Raisen

Bhopal: A 23-year-old police constable was killed and a stenographer posted in the SP office was seriously injured after their scooter rammed into a stationary truck in Raisen district late Sunday night.The accident took place around 12.30 am near Gopalpur square on the Raisen bypass when the two were returning to the police lines. Police said the scooter collided with a truck parked on the roadside, leading to a severe impact.The deceased was identified as Naman Mudgal, a resident of Narmadapuram, who died on the spot. The injured, Lalit Marko, a stenographer in the SP office, sustained serious injuries and was referred to Bhopal for treatment after initial medical care at the district hospital.Mudgal joined the police force on compassionate grounds after the death of his father, who was also in the police department.
