Cook falls into boiling wok, dies

Bhopal: A cook (halwai) suffered severe burn injuries allegedly after falling into a wok (kadhai) filled with hot oil while frying puris at a wedding function in the Parwalia area and died while undergoing treatment on Thursday. Parwalia SHO Rohit Nagar said the deceased, Sajjad Hussain, 32, a resident of Gondipura New Jail Road in Gandhi Nagar, worked as a halwai (cook). On Feb 4, he went to prepare food at a wedding function organised at a garden in Mubarakpur in the Parwalia area. At around 9:30 am, he was frying puris when he suddenly felt dizzy, lost his balance, and fell into the wok full of boiling oil. His co-workers pulled him out and rushed him to Hamidia Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries on Thursday morning after nearly 15 days.
