CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan files paper on Dhanteras
BHOPAL
: Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, seeking a record fourth term, chose Mondaythe auspicious day of Dhanteras on Monday to file his nominations. Hoping that luck would smile on him again, Shivraj accompanied by his wife Sadhna Singh and sons Kunal and Kartikey filed his nomination from his home constituency Budhni in Sehore district.Addressing party workers ahead of filing his papers, Chouhan took a jibe at the opposition Congress for daydreaming about returning to power with poor development as record. He said Congress pushed the state to poverty and failed to develop infrastructure.
“People know very well the number of roads constructed during BJP's tenure and condition of roads during erstwhile Congress regime. It is development versus failure,” said Chouhan.
He also urged the people to identify those who had pushed the state to backwardness. "Without remembering me their day is not complete. They cannot not appreciate the development that took place during BJP's term, hence I have become an eyesore for these rajas, maharajas and udyogpatis”, said Chouhan.
Chouhan who is contesting from Budhni for the fifth time since 1990, told the public to campaign on his behalf as he will spearhead the statewide poll drive to achieve the target of 200+ seats. In 2013, Chouhan won the seat by a margin of 84,000 votes against Congress candidate Mahendra Singh

who is now fielded by the party from Bhopal's Narela assembly constituency."I have come to Budhni to handover the responsibility of poll campaign to my people. I will not come here again. You will have to make the victory a landslide. I have the responsibility of working in other 229 seats,” said Chouhan, Before filing papers, Chouhan visited his native village Jait in the morning and performed a pooja at his family's diety's temple. He also offered prayers at holy river Narmada. The chief minister was accompanied by senior BJP leaders and workers of Budhni.
