Chinar Dream City lift collapse: 3 face case
Bhopal: Nearly a month after a 24-year-old was injured in a lift collapse in Chinar Dream City, police on Saturday filed a criminal case against three persons, holding the society management and maintenance team responsible for gross negligence. The 24-year-old man was seriously injured after a lift allegedly went out of control and fell inside Chinar Dream City in Misrod on Feb 28. According to police, the complainant, Anuj Pathrol, 24, a resident of Vidisha, works in marketing for a private company in Mandideep and resides here in I-Block of Chinar Dream City. On the morning of Feb 28, he was heading to office with his colleague Pradeep Yadav when the incident occured. As they boarded the lift from the sixth floor of the block, it suddenly malfunctioned and plunged downward. Anuj said he pressed the emergency button in an attempt to stop the lift, but it failed to function due to a technical fault. The impact caused a severe injury, resulting in a fracture of Anuj's right ankle bone. Eyewitness Pradeep Yadav immediately rushed him to a hospital. After receiving initial treatment, he returned to his native town. Later, on Saturday, he lodged a written complaint at Misrod police station. Taking the matter seriously, police found sub-committee chairman Jaipal Sharma, lift repair in-charge Neeraj Pawar, and maintenance head Prakash Vishwakarma responsible for negligence.
