Bhind Murder Case: Wife, Lover Arrested for Killing Man Near Ramta Village

Bhopal: Police in Bhind district claimed to have solved the mystery behind the murder of a youth, saying his wife and her associate planned and carried out the killing on Wednesday night near Ramta village.Deceased was identified as Nilesh Jatav, a resident of Khirika village.According to police, Nilesh's wife, Ruby Jatav, and her associate, Vishal Jatav, were arrested after technical evidence pointed to their involvement. Ruby Jatav and Vishal Jatav were produced in court and sent to jail.Police said the incident took place around 8pm when Nilesh was returning home on a motorcycle with his wife. During the journey, Ruby allegedly asked him to stop the bike on the pretext of having dropped her purse. As Nilesh got down, Vishal, who was waiting nearby, fired at him from behind using a country-made firearm. Nilesh died on the spot.Investigators said the plan had been prepared a few days in advance. On the day of the incident, Ruby had stayed back in Bhind for several hours on the pretext of taking her three-year-old daughter to a doctor and left for home only after dark, as per the plan. Vishal, along with another person identified as Rajesh Kushwah, was waiting near the spot. After the shooting, Rajesh fled on a motorcycle, while Vishal escaped through nearby fields.Police said the woman initially tried to mislead investigators by claiming that unknown persons had attacked them in an attempted robbery. She told police that two men had followed them and shot her husband before fleeing. However, inconsistencies in her statement and analysis of call records raised suspicion.During the investigation, police found that Ruby and Vishal had been in contact and had tried to delete their call records after the incident. Based on this and other evidence, both were taken into custody.Police said Vishal is related to the deceased and lives in the same village. He was present with the family during the post-mortem and funeral, which initially kept suspicion away from him.Investigators said Nilesh had recently returned from Delhi and had started living in the village after learning about his wife's relationship with Vishal. This had led to disputes, which police said was the motive behind the murder.Further investigation is underway, and police are looking into the role of the third person named in the case.
