Battery trader found dead with gunshot wound in Gwalior
Bhopal: A 32-year-old battery trader was found dead with a gunshot wound to his head inside the office of his rented warehouse in Transport Nagar area of Gwalior early Wednesday, police said.
Police added the case prima facie appears to be a suicide. A country-made pistol was found lying near the body. The deceased was identified as Shivam Gupta, a resident of Gwalior who ran a battery business.
According to police, Shivam had left home for work on Tuesday but did not return at night. His family repeatedly tried calling him, but his mobile phone remained switched off. Concerned, family members began searching for him and reached his warehouse at Parking No 6 in Transport Nagar around 3 am.
When they opened the office inside the warehouse, they found Shivam’s body. Shivam’s mobile phone and the pistol were seized from the scene. Shivam had not mentioned any personal or business-related problems before leaving for work.
