: A one-and-a-half-year old girl, who was stung by a scorpion, died after her ambulance got caught in a marriage procession in

Damoh

district on Monday evening.

Police have registered against some baraatis and the DJ for blocking the road.

, said they were taking her in an ambulance to Damoh district hospital from Patharia, a distance of about 27km, when they got tangled in a traffic jam caused by a baraat procession. She died in the ambulance. Her parents went to police.

Damoh SP Vivek Agrawal told TOI, “A case has been registered against some named and some unidentified people who were part of the DJ, band party and the baraat under section 283 (endangering or obstructing public way).” “If our investigation reveals that the ambulance was caught in the jam created by baraat, and it led to the child’s death, tougher charges will be added against the accused.”

Around 10 days ago, police met DJs and band party owners in Damoh and ordered them not to block roads, the SP said. “Despite the warning, this incident took place. We are taking measures to ensure it never happens again,”
