Bhopal: A major push to infrastructure and welfare in Chhindwara was announced on Thursday, with 105 development projects rolled out across sectors including roads, housing, education and water supply, alongside large-scale fund transfers to workers and pension beneficiaries.
It included the Tamia–Junnardeo road built at a cost of Rs 133 crore, works under the Nal-Jal scheme, police housing, secondary school buildings, hostels and several other development projects.
CM Mohan Yadav announced 105 development projects worth more than Rs 500 crore for the Chhindwara district. CM also transferred Rs 157 crore under the Sambal Yojana to the accounts of 7,008 workers across the state through a single click.
Rs 463 crore was also transferred to more than 55 lakh beneficiaries under various social security pension schemes.
CM said after the construction of the grand temple of lord Ram in Ayodhya, the state govt is developing Chitrakoot in MP as a major pilgrimage centre. Connecting heritage with development, work on the Ram Van Gaman Path is also underway in the state.
Facilities are being developed at several major religious centres, including Mahakal in Ujjain, Jamsawli Hanuman Dham and Sharada temple in Satna, recognising them as important pilgrimage sites, CM added.
Member of Parliament Bunty Vivek Sahu said that along with industrial development in the state, new schools and hostels are also being established.
The Tamia–Junnardeo road will connect two districts, while the development of an airport in Chhindwara (announced earlier) will give the region a new identity, he added.
