17-month-old dies after fall from 2nd floor balcony

Bhopal: A 17-month-old girl died after allegedly falling from the second-floor balcony of her house in Tulsi Nagar Colony in the city's Ashoka Garden area. The incident occurred on March 26 evening, and the child succumbed to her injuries during treatment late Friday night.According to police, the deceased, Roshni Giri, (17 months), was the younger daughter of Santosh Giri, a resident of Tulsi Nagar Colony, who works in a private job in MP Nagar, cops said. On the evening of March 26, around 5.30pm, Roshni was playing in the balcony while her mother was busy cooking in the kitchen. Her elder sister was inside the room, and her father was at work. During this time, a relative living nearby informed the mother that the child had fallen down. The child suffered severe injuries to her head and other parts of the body. She was first taken to a private hospital and later shifted to AIIMS for advanced treatment. Despite medical efforts, she died during treatment late on Friday night.Police have registered a case in the matter.
