Bengaluru: For the third time in as many weeks, Bhartiya City residents spent their Sunday celebrating with the community as Happy Streets by The Times of India, presented by Bhima Jewellers, turned the area into a community space focused on activity and engagement.
The morning opened with yoga sessions before shifting to Zumba, where participants across age groups joined in. Live music featuring Kannada songs continued through the event.
Activity stalls drew steady crowds. Prashree Art hosted Mandala sessions, while Vicky's Craft conducted interactive activities. At Reclaim Constitution, visitors engaged with civic themes and picked up copies of the Preamble. NeeRav Arts Village introduced participants to Mudgar fitness. The Postcrossing Society of India encouraged handwritten communication through postcards.
Children participated in face painting, drawing, and craft sessions, with parents joining in. At the play arena, adults revisited games such as tyre rolling, buguri (top), and skipping, introducing them to younger participants.
Residents said the event created space for outdoor engagement. Abhilasha Sharma said it was her first time at Happy Streets and her child enjoyed the activities, adding that such initiatives are important as children lack safe streets due to traffic in the city. Abinash Acharya described it as quality family time and said open street concepts were needed in Bengaluru. Pallavi Kire called it a refreshing way to spend Sunday.
