HC vacates stay on Ramya’s film

BENGALURU: A city civil court vacated an interim order of injunction, restraining the use of the title ‘Swathi Mutthina Male Haniye’ for a movie set for release by a production house established by actor and former MP Divya Spandana aka Ramya.


City civil and sessions judge Padma Prasad allowed the interlocutory application filed by Applebox Studios. On January 16 ,2023, the court had granted ex-parte injunction based on the suit filed by filmmaker SV Rajendra Singh Babu.

Babu had claimed the said words used for title were used as a title song in his film Bannada Gejje. Applebox Studios claimed they had completed production of the film and the temporary injunction was coming in the way of its release.
