In Bithaura Kalan village, Kusma Devi, a 28-year-old woman, was allegedly poisoned and fatally bludgeoned due to dowry demands. Her husband, Chandra Pal, along with his parents, brother, and sister, are accused of demanding Rs 1 lakh, a motorbike, and a gold chain.

PILIBHIT: A 28-year-old woman was allegedly poisoned and then bludgeoned to death over dowry at Bithaura Kalan village under Gajraula police station of Pilibhit district.The incident took place on Saturday morning, and the body was sent for autopsy, said police. SHO Brijveer Singh said a case under relevant sections of BNS and the Dowry Prohibition Act was registered against the husband, his parents, Jagannath and Premwati, younger brother Gangaram and sister Puja Devi.

In his police complaint, Sundar Lal of the same village stated that he married his daughter Kusma Devi to farmer Chandra Pal around six years ago.
