BAREILLY: A woman was injured after a group of men allegedly hit her head with a glass bottle during a Christmas night celebration at a club in Bareilly, said police.
A video of the incident came to light on Saturday.
Mahak Gupta, a resident of Ashutosh City, had gone to My Bar Headquarters hotel for dinner on Wednesday night with her brother.
According to police, an argument broke out between her and a group of men over a table. The men, allegedly drunk, started hurling abuses and then assaulted her. One of them smashed a glass bottle on her head, leaving her bleeding on the spot.
Mahak told police that Shainit Srivastava, Saloni Patel, Dhruv Rai, Aman Rai, Chirag Gupta and a few others were involved in the attack. She alleged that hotel bouncers neither intervened nor tried to detain the accused, who fled immediately after the incident.
After receiving information, police reached the spot and sent the injured woman to the district hospital for a medical examination.
“An FIR has been registered and teams are scanning CCTV footage to identify and arrest the accused,” said SP City Manush Pareek. “Strict action will be taken,” he added.
