Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: The South Central Railway (SCR) authorities cancelled the Nanded-Mumbai Vande Bharat express on Thursday due to maintenance issues.While the train was scheduled to depart from Nanded at 5.20am, the last minute cancellation caused huge inconvenience to passengers.Besides Mumbai, the key train covers Parbhani, Jalna, Aurangabad, Manmad, Nashik, Kalyan, Thane, and Dadar stations.Railway activist Raj Somani it is perhaps the first incident when Nanded-Mumbai Vande Bharat express stands cancelled due to maintenance issues. “It is shocking that a popular train like Vande Bharat gets cancelled due to maintenance issues. We hope that such lapses do not take place in future at any cost,” he said.Recently, Vande Bharat was cancelled for Mumbai-Nanded journey on April 28 due to operational issues following derailment of Mumbai-Solapur Vande Bharat express. Before that, Nanded-Mumbai-Nanded Vande Bharat had witnessed cancellation on August 20-21 due to heavy rain in Mumbai. Prior to it, the train could not ply on June 1-2, 2024 due to certain yard works in Mumbai.
