BJP censures opening of women friendly liquor stores in Punjab

While alleging that chief minister Bhagwant Mann's love for alcohol is now becoming evident throughout the state, the media in-charge of the Punjab unit of the BJP, Janardan Sharma said that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government’s decision to open ‘women friendly’ liquor shops were poised to destroy the households in the state.

AMRITSAR: While alleging that chief minister Bhagwant Mann's love for alcohol is now becoming evident throughout the state, the media in-charge of the Punjab unit of the BJP, Janardan Sharma said that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government’s decision to open ‘women friendly’ liquor shops were poised to destroy the households in the state.“The initiative has commenced in the Lamba Pind Chowk of Jalandhar where a women-friendly liquor studio selling all brands of scotch, whisky, wine, and beer has opened. It won't be long before women-friendly liquor studio’s proliferating across the state, including the holy city of Amritsar,” he said.He said ahead of the last assembly elections, the AAP had made a promise to the people of the state that it would lead the youth of Punjab out of the abyss of drug addiction but the government not only failed to fulfill its promise , instead it had started opening liquor shops to attract the women of the state towards alcohol.“The rampant addiction has already devastated homes across the entire state. Now, the AAP government's decision to open liquor shops for women will play havoc to the lives of Punjabis,” he said.
