AMARAVATI: Exhorting the students to be keen to know the roots of the Indian heritage and culture, Indian National Trust for Art, Culture and Heritage (INTACH) state vice-president SVS Lakshminarayana has observed that conservation of heritage is in the hands of the next generation.
He said that the conservation of heritage structures was very important in the process of civilization.
Intach organized a study tour for the students of the Hindu College of Management to the 13th-century historical fort Kondaveedu in Palnadu district on Saturday.
Speaking to the students, Lakshminarayana said that students should spare little time to know about rich Indian heritage apart from learning their courses, streams and subject.
He said that merely learning the courses might not make them all-rounders in the competitive world.
He observed that students, who have a nose for knowing history, heritage and culture, could succeed on any global platform.
“Try to spend some time visiting the historical structures including forts, temples and other significant structures in your vicinity whenever you find time during the studies. Because such trips will not only rejuvenate the spirit but also give you new energies to focus on your studies,” said Lakshminarayana.
He said that Kondaveedu fort is one of the amazing forts that were constructed with so much focus on the environment and ecology.
One will be surprised to know many things on Kondaveedu fort was constructed almost 800 years ago, he said.
Hindu College of Management principal Dr SV Ramana said that management students should be keener about the preservation of heritage as they would be going to manage many more things in future.
He said that heritage and historical structures give exposure to how the previous generations managed so many precious things in an organised manner.
Intach member Raavi Srinivas and others were present.
