VHP man attacked after objecting to harassment

Prayagraj: A group of miscreants allegedly assaulted a VHP functionary and his friend near Bahadurganj area late Friday night after they objected to the harassment of a woman.

Based on the complaint of the victim, Akash Agrahari, an FIR has been lodged at Kotwali police station against two named accused and 10 others under Sections 115(2), 352, 351(3), 191(2) and 109(1) of BNS.

Agrahari said the group assaulted him and his friend when they raised objection over the alleged eve-teasing of a woman and a parking issue near Mansarovar crossing.

The accused also opened fire and threatened locals who tried to intervene, creating panic in the area. No arrests have been made so far, police said.
