SC judgment on fee hike hailed

ALLAHABAD:The Abhibhawak Ekta Samiti has hailed the decision of Supreme Court vesting theCentral government with the power to determine the fee hike in private schools.The activists distributed sweets and burst crackers at the Subhash crossing inCivil Lines to express joy at the decision.The convenor of thesamiti Vijay Kumar Gupta said the decision would benefit crores of children inthe country. Besides, it would also put an end to harassment of children andtheir parents by private schools.He added that the state governmentshould immediately pass an order withdrawing the fee hike in English mediumschools and put a check on education mafia functioning in thestate.In a joint statement issued, general secretary and secretaryof the samiti Suman Goswami and Pramil Kesarwani respectively said that if thedirectives of the Supreme Court are not followed immediately they would beforced to continue their agitation against the fee hike in English mediumschools.
